COVID-19

To our Dental on Central Family from Doctor Herro:

I hope this letter finds you all in good health. I’m writing to update you on treatment availability at Dental on Central.

First, our highest concern is your health and safety. We have continued to operate during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic so that we could care for emergency and urgent cases. We’ve done so in order to help relieve pressure on hospital emergency rooms so that physicians and nurses could be freed up to care for COVID-19 patients. And we have met and exceeded all guidelines for infection control published by the American Dental Association.

We have now returned to seeing patients for routine care, and we want you to know that your health and safety remain our top priority. Here is a summary:

  • We will be operating at approximately 50 percent capacity, to ensure appropriate physical distancing in the office.
  • We will schedule patients to minimize having anyone in the waiting room, instead taking you directly to a treatment room. If you do need to wait, be assured that all common areas and treatment rooms are sanitized each morning and at the end of the day, and all surfaces are disinfected after each use, including things like door handles and countertops. There will only be a few chairs available, all spaced more than the recommended distance of six feet apart.
  • Upon arrival, we’ll take your temperature, and the temperature of anyone accompanying you. If your temperature is normal, you will be asked a series of COVID-19 related questions. Upon entering the office, everyone must wash with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Patients must rinse with hydrogen peroxide for one minute. If you’re temperature is elevated, we’ll reschedule you for a future visit.
  • All of our health care providers wear PPE (personal protective equipment) including masks, gloves, and gowns.

I’m happy to provide a more detailed list, should you desire one. And should you feel more comfortable delaying non-emergency or non-urgent treatment for another month or two, I understand. We’ll be here whenever you’re ready to return.

Finally, this is uncharted territory for all of us. We are doing our best to navigate back to normal operations, but things that are out of our control could change. For example, we may need to reschedule your appointment based on changes from the governor’s office. So, we ask for your understanding and your grace during this time.

If you have any questions or concerns, or simply need to talk, we’re here for you. Our staff is standing by to care for your needs and answer your questions.

With my thanks and best regards,

Anthony Herro, DDS
